ââ¬Å"An investigation into whether mass media is in reality biased towards Islam/Islamic beliefs, in addition are there contributing factors?â⬠ââ¬Å"The media is the most powerful entity on the earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and thatââ¬â¢s power. Because they control the mind of the masses.â⬠- Malcolm X My self-interest project is an ââ¬Å"An investigation into whether mass media is in reality biased towards Islamic beliefs in addition are there contributing factors?â⬠As a Muslim seeing the media presenting islam in a negative portrayal of Islam, it provoked my interest in investigating the different beliefs and work given out to the individuals in our generation mass media. I hypothesise that what is portrayed in the media is in fact biased to a certain extent (90%) however this is due to certain contributing factors. (10%) To conduct my research and to further study whether the media is biased or not I have created a survey so that I may receive at least 50-100 responses of students, adults, teachers, and individuals to see the opinions and reasons impacts based on factors of why the media has a portrayal of Islam in a negative way.
